Caliterra awarded with double gold and gold medals in Japan

The Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards, whose judges are exclusively female winemakers, sommeliers, specialized journalists and other wine-related professionals, is considered a top category event, which influences the trends of the ever demanding Japanese market and serves as a guide for consumer habits. This contest not only rewards the price-quality ratio of the wines, but also strongly highlights the pairing that can be achieved with Asian cuisine.

Three wines from Viña Caliterra were awarded with Double Gold Medal and two Gold Medals at the Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards. In its seventh edition, the jury opted for two wines Cabernet Sauvignon and a Chardonnay from the winery located in Colchagua Valley, in recognition for the quality of these varieties, which currently play an important role among the preferences of the Japanese female community.

The wine that stood out among its peers, and which was awarded with Double Gold Medal, was Tributo Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, a wine that honors the quality of its lands, its people and the details that have been perfectly combined for its creation. Also in the Red Wine Category, the winner of the Gold Medal was Caliterra Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2017.

On the other hand, Tributo Chardonnay 2016 was also awarded with Gold Medal. The minerality and freshness of white fruits such as water pear stand out in this wine from the Casablanca Valley.
